Catherine Vanderburgh: Keeper Coach
 |
Growing up within the Waterloo Region, Catherine has been a player within WMSC for over 12 years. Enjoying a variety of successes along the way, including playing in an Ontario Cup final at U13 and semi-finals of the Schwann USA Cup at U18, Catherine has also played in the OYSL provincial level during her youth years with WMSC. Over the past 7 years, she has played in the Ontario Women's Soccer League at the provincial level for the Kitchener Pumas and most recently, the Waterloo Hawks.
Choosing to stay in town for university, Catherine played for the
University of Waterloo for five years. While captain during her final
two years, she
also was awarded as a member of the OUA second team
all-star and MVP
|
of the team. At the conclusion of her varsity years, UW
coach Peter Mackie, brought her back on board to focus on coaching the
women's team goalkeepers.
Over the past two years, Catherine has been working with a
variety of goalkeepers within WMSC ranging from U12-U16 age groups. With
a strong passion for the game and the position, Catherine looks forward
to working with the young goalkeepers within the club.
She wishes to share her enthusiasm and experiences with
keepers who are eager to learn, while at the same time, help elevate
WMSC into an elite level club throughout the province. |
