The Waterloo Phoenix played Erin Mills on September 11th at the OSA Vaughan Center and won 2-1. Erin Mills came out strong claiming the first goal leaving the Waterloo Girls a bit deflated. Just before half, the girls were able to score which tied up the game and bestowed new life into the Waterloo team. In the second half, they came out determined that this was going to be their day and proved that by scoring again. The Phoenix were able to defend and keep their lead and become Cup Champions!!! This was a team effort with everyone stepping up and doing what they could to win not only for themselves but for their teammates on the field and for their 5 teammates who were injured and not able to play today.  More details on the OSA website.

Waterloo Minor Soccer joins the coaching staff to congratulate the Waterloo U15A Girls Phoenix Team - players, coaches and parents. Way to Go!

The U8 Girls Waterloo Eagles played hard at the Brams United Tournament in Brampton. All that hard work earned them a well deserved Championship. This was the girls last tournament of the season, and what a way to end!!

The team was undefeated in round robin play. They beat Brampton decisively 3-0, and won against the Waterloo Warhawks 3-1. They came from behind to tie Dixie 2-2 in a very impressive and determined battle, and continued to dominate beating Hamilton 2-0. This put them in first place after the round robin. The Eagles were scheduled to play their rivals, the Waterloo Warhawks in the finals, but mother nature had other plans. Unfortunately, the game was cancelled due to heavy rain, thunder and lightening. Since, the Eagles prevailed in round robin play they earned themselves a very deserving Championship Trophy! Waterloo Wizards (U9 Girls) had another great weekend in Stratford on Aug.13th and 14th. Our girls played excellent soccer in the round robin play by winning two games and losing one, in those games they scored 12 goals and only allowed 3. The Wizards went to the semifinals against a strong London United from their premier division and came up on top 3 to 0 in a overall team effort. That took the team to the tournament final where they were matched against Woodstock. The girls played hard through adversity: short-benched (two players were away), two were under the weather and the team suffered a couple injuries during the game. They fought hard but didn't have enough at the end and came up short by losing 2 - 1. Coaches, parents and WMSC are very proud of the work ethic from this team - they showed a lot of heart by never giving up. Way to go WIZARDS.
