If you have an interest in coaching a team in the Rep, Development, SWRSL or Tournament programme, please download and complete the coaches application (Word or PDF version). Police checks are mandatory for travelling team coaching staff.

All Rep team fundraising must be approved by WMSC. The fundraising form can be downloaded here.

Important Note: The OSA Program does NOT provide Liability coverage for fundraisers. Special events insurance is required. Costs are the responsibility of the Team. Inform the office at least 30 days in advance and prior to the event booking to confirm insurance coverage is available and not too costly.

OSA Insurance
HKMB HUB is the insurance broker responsible for arranging liability and accident insurance program for the OSA and its members. The insurance covers practices and all OSA-sanctioned leagues, tournaments, camps, and clinics.

Exhibition games are covered as long as the OSA sanctions the game. They must be approved by the league office or players and coaches are uninsured.

Player Registration (Exhibition Games)

Player registration is divided into a number of categories to reflect season of play, type of game, or level of competition. Outdoor registration is divided between recreational, advanced recreational and competitive classes; indoor registration does not have such divisions. All competitive and advanced recreational teams must be registered with the OSA. Teams are assigned to divisions or leagues by the club at the point of team registration. Exhibition Approval Procedures *** updated January 2013 ***

All exhibition games must be approved by WMSC. Coaches/Managers must follow the guidelines contained on this web page/document to obtain permission for an exhibition game.

Police Record Check Form

Waterloo Minor Soccer Club requires that all coaches, volunteers and administrators working with children in high or medium risk positions as outlined by the Ontario Soccer Association, complete and provide a volunteer police check. These positions include:
    1. Competitive Team Officials
    2. All-Star Team Officials
    3. Select Team Officials
    4. Recreational Team Officials (U16-U19)

At this time it is not mandatory for volunteers in Low Risk positions to complete a police records check, however it is recommended for your own protection. These positions include:

  1. Recreational Team Officials
  2. Other Club League Officials
  3. Mini-Soccer Team Officials

The initial check costs $10.00 if you provide a letter from the club when you go to the police station to apply for the police records check. This letter is available at the office or on our website. upon submission of a police records check.

"Now, anyone whose gender and birth date match those of a registered sex offender will have to undergo a secondary fingerprint search…" Fingerprint checks welcomed by community groups (Brent Davis, Record staff)

The additional fee for the fingerprints (if required) will also be reimbursed by the club if a receipt is provided. Fingerprinting is done by appointment only on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Police Headquarters, 200 Maple Grove Road, in Cambridge between 8:10 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Appointments can be made by calling 519-650-8500 x 8525.

ThinkFirst Smart Soccer

ThinkFirst Canada's Smart Soccer is an injury prevention program developed to promote safe soccer for soccer players aged 6-14. This program has been written for parents, coaches, teachers, and officials. Although this booklet has been designed for players from 6-14 years old, most of the information contained in the booklet is applicable to soccer players of all ages and skill sets.
